What a great working bee at the Koha Garden at 108 Stanmore road. It was a good day to kick off Spring after a very rainy few months, and to revisit the site and community members. To fuel the efforts of the crew, and celebrate in general, a BBQ, coffees and free soda from the dairy were enjoyed by all. Flowers were in bloom, the veggies were cranking and Adam McGrath (from the Eastern) was onsite spinning a yarn and a song or two!! It was awesome 🙂
Adam Mcgrath spent time in different parts of the city over a few weeks in September as part of his a “Sit In” project. Adam is hearing stories from the communities and creating songs around them! See for more details: https://www.stuff.co.nz/
Many hands make light work, in this case; two truckloads of stones to battle the soggy driveway, a newly painted picket fence was erected, weeding and painting to tidy up the area and some new plantings were made.
It was great to see everyone, many thanks for a great day and to Adam for great tunes and coffee! We look forward to Adam revisiting the site to record and then perform over the coming months 🙂
