Propeller Benches

Propeller Benches

Our Propeller Benches debuted at the SCIRT World Buskers Festival in 2015. They were designed and built under copyright by Jonathan Hall, GtR Site Supervisor (with a bit of help from the team). They can fit together in a multitude of ways to best make use of a space. These will pop up in different events around the city, so keep an eye out!

Places of Tranquillity

Places of Tranquillity

This idea behind this garden was to work with the city’s ethnic communities to include their traditions, cultures and spiritual beliefs in a public space. The goal was to ensure that these communities’ voices and presence is more visible in the rebuild of our city. There were three key partners in this collaborative project…

Pod Oasis – Re:Start Mall

Pod Oasis – Re:Start Mall

The Pod Oasis was created as an award-winning garden at Ellerslie International Flower Show in Hagley Park in February 2014. After deconstruction there, it was moved to Re:Start Mall. The concept design by GtR Site Supervisor, Jonathan Hall, and colleagues earned Ellerslie Show grant funding and was built with help from gardener Gina Payne and a team of volunteers.
